This was the first machine I could actually work when I started using Buzz!! Its a cool little synth which actually allows you to set the length of a note in ticks (I just wish you could set it to 1/2 tick!). It sounds kinda bleh if you're not gonna program the parameters. It's the best machine to understand the basics of waveforms, cutoff and resonance. The features are great for a 303 type machine.

Jeskola Bass 3 is my favourite synth for basslines. It's easy to use, and indeed, quite good to learn the basics of synthesis if you haven't got any notions of it. You can use it as a TB-303 of course, but I don't. I rather use it in order to get a deep and growling bassline similar to the one you can have on a Yamaha DX-7, it means with a triangle or a pulse-waveform, but without any cutoff frequency and resonance. I appreciate the fact that you can set the length of notes and add slide notes (glissendo).

i agree with everything said here, even with limited parameters this has been a long lived staple of buzzmachines for several people, but one problem it does have ... is that it clicks, especially on basslines and note offs .... which is not so cool, so if you avoid those, this is indeed a very useful tool, just gotta wipe the dust off of it hehe ....
