Hi guys, I have an MP3 of Hunz's excellent Buzz track 'Traffik', but I wonder if he ever released it in .bmw or .bmx format? Do any of you have a copy?

Re: crash when opening file

If I understand your problem correctly, I have the same exact one.

Try to open songs by opening the folder and just clicking the file. (this might involve ChooseProgram or whatever)

And if your "save" option still works, use it. You won't have the luxury of saving songs with the popup window, but it works.

oh, and to make new songs just copy old ones and rename them.

VA - Themeless (looking for submissions)

BM003 - Various Artists - Themeless

Hey everybody!

After the succes of our first online release "No Time To Waste"
we are ready for another online compilation!

This compilation won't have any specific theme.
The only goal of this compilation is to bring together
a nice amount of good breakcore tracks on one release.
This means not every submission will be accepted for this release.

We want quality, not quantity.

The deadline will be the 1st of august 2008.
If we haven't got enough good tracks we'll set a second deadline.

You can send your link of the track via our contactform on our website.
Your track should be a 320 kbps stereo mp3.
Please fill in all the required information.

Good luck!

Cheers,
Sicko / WSicko

It's all good now!

Thanks for your help mva, but I seemed to have done an extra safety precausion by renaming the overloader .dll to .dl (so it won't read it), and then I put it back without seeing that it missed an 'L'. Stupid me.

Now it's all good, and it's a "new boost of positivity" when everything is back in order.

Oskari...make a bunch of backups already!! ;)

hmm... It might be a registery problem then. Normally you only had to delete one overloader file (can't exactly remember the filename) from the /gear folder to get the "new" Buzz running.

established musician > try to become one :- ) its fun (and work, too)

some musicians don't release a capellas on single cds but do release them on vinyl (as a promo) or as ~2$ download on beatport .. (see nu:tone 'system' / medical history / hospital rec)

I did relocate it to a new folder, cause Oskari's new buzz wouldn't startup with overloader. When I decided to go back to the old buzz exe I just put overloader back to the original place, but it will not load now on startup it seems.
Bad move?

Re: Sampling only PARTS of songs

what do you mean, as in 'i have this rap cd and i want only the rap without the beats' ?

established musicians that get paid to do a remix get the a capella (ie only voice) from the record company, or a multitrack mixdown where voice / beats / bass / guitars / synths / fx are single tracks.

unestablished musicians have been developing a habit of getting a hold of an a capella track whenever they can (if they are at all interested in remixing).

some bands do contests such as the beastie boys .. get a capellas here > http://www.beastieboys.com/remixer/

you can also simply use vocals from breaks (such as the beginning from nina simones 'feeling good')

Sampling only PARTS of songs

Is it possible to sample just a part of a song (e.g. just the vocals, even if there's the rest of the music banging away behind it). I was just wondering how "established" musicians get the vocal loops to do remixes etc.

Re: How to use a MIDI keyboard to insert notes in the Pattern editor?

Thanks, that was the perfect hint!
This really switched me from frustration to ethusiasm :-)

I would have never figured that out by myself, but now it is working.

Only one minor problem is:
When I am recording notes, they do not directly appear in Pattern. It seems that the position counter is moving through the pattern correctly but the inserted notes only appear if you minimize/maximize the window or edit some notes manully, then suddenly they all start to appear.

If someone has a clue if this can be avoided it would be welcome, but its not an essential problem.
