Portamento Basics

Date: 2008-07-17 Author: thOke Viewed 3622 times

Here is a basic tutorial on how portamento works.

Most important:

You enter the command 03 AFTER the note you want to pitch up or down.

There you define the pitch/portamento-RANGE with the another note and the pitch/portamento-SPEED with the command value - the higher the value is the faster it reaches the defined note range.

Using the command afterwards without a note and a value will keep portamento-ing until a new note is placed without the 03 command.

More explanaitions you'll find in the seuencer view of the attached bmx. Hope, it's understandable ;)

btw - don't expect a super sound ! it's for your brain, not for your ears ;) 2008-07-17 by thOke (Voted 5 for this review!)

" ... you define the pitch/portamento-RANGE with another note" is what i wanted to say. and: explanaitions= explanations, seuencer= sequencer. doooh ^^ 2008-07-17 by thOke (Voted 5 for this review!)

"Using the 03 command afterwards without a note (and/or a value) will keep portamento-ing until the sample ends, the note range is reached or a new note is played without the 03 command." .... is more precise. Now i'll shut up. ;)

Very well done, the explanations inside the bmx are completely understandable for me (the association of visual and the sound is pedagogically more effective !). A big 10 for your review, thanks thOke ! :) 2008-07-18 by guiTmic (Voted 10 for this review!)
