Nin Sounding VKR

Date: 2002-03-17 Author: POMF Viewed 3191 times

Hey everybody just wanted to post a cool lil setup using a Zephod & Thevider VKR Granular, WhiteNoise Filtron, and a Ninja Delay. The loop is a lil NIN?ish sounding so I thought I post it along with how to set it up. The setup will produce a very cool sounding element to a song, if it has specific presetting and scripting of the properties.

VKR Setup and Tips: (1): Attack = 10 ms, Decay = 29 ms, Grainspace = 0.0%, Grainspeed = -168.5%, Grainlength = 44 smp. (2): Script the Grainstart anywhere between 50%-100%, but change it around with the melody. (3): Always turn note off after ever note, unless the notes are consecutive, sometimes it sounds real bad if you don't. (4) You want to keep the all the note octaves between 7-9, personally, it just sounds crummy if the octaves are lower than 7.

Filtron Setup and Tips (1): Q = 72.8%, Node = Post Filter, Clip Thresh = 5152, Inertia = 1.00 Tick, MultiFilt = 1x, Gain = 100.0% (2):  To get the desired effect between the VKR and the Filtron, change the Cutoff according to how you want it to effect the VKR, but keep it below 30% or it will make your ears hurt,

Ninja Delay Setup and Tips: (1): Dry thru = 1, 0-Length = 3, 0-Length unit = tick, 0-Feedback = 7.8%, 0-f. type = lowpass, 0-f. cutoff =  4835Hz, 0-f. bandwidth = 100 cps, 0-Wet out = 33.6%

Note: You can play around with the values and add some other stuff; these setting are my suggested ones with this specific sample. To get my lil loop to work, you need my sample off my website in order for it to work which u can get here. Just load the wave it into the first sample slot in the Wavetable.

Hey sorry everybody, it kept bringing up "add a review form" after i submitted the first time, so i assumed it didn't accept it. Well i added once again and then changed the file attachment and later noticed at the bottom, "you review has been submitted". Really sorry everybody; feeling like an ass :-I 2002-03-17 by POMF

Couldn't download the sample. Couldn't find one of my own that sounded good with the setup. 2002-03-17 by Fallout

I also failed downloading the sample.
Taking just any sample does'nt sound interesting. what kind of sample did you use ? 2002-03-17 by tonfang

!Important! Always keep the file small, so don't use samples in your Buzz song. Always zip your file and give it an unique name (like: yourname_filename.zip). Fill the spaces in your filename with an _ (underscore). Max file size is 100kb.  2002-03-17 by mute

***ABOUT DOWNLOADING SAMPLE - IT IS THERE*** Ok guys, the file is there. It is not a 404 error, u have to click on a link which should be around the center of the page. Thank homestead for being really anal about downloading files. 2002-03-17 by POMF
