This is only a quickie... Not a proper full review.
Somebody on the messageboard (some days ago) said that infector is only good for trance leads and low notes on it sound bad. I don't really make trance but I find myself using infector a lot and especially on basses so I wanted to make a little example tune for a smooth bass sound I've been using lately. So this is really meant to be a demo of the bass sound. The lead is just a funny little extra I could not resist to put in it.
This bass sound is not really too special but I find it can back things up quite nicely. Good thing to try with bass sounds on infector is _not_ to use the sub oscillator. Many times if you use it you just introduce too low frequencies for any speaker to reproduce and you waste a lot of your dynamic range for those. In this one the fundamental frequency in those low E notes is around 41Hz. Many speakers can't even go that low with full volume. Sub osc would then be around 20Hz. Thats lower than most speakers can practically reproduce at all...
I did not use any other FX on that bass sound than bit of reverb to make it sound bit more alive. Usually I use a bit distorted and then low pass filtered version of the sound mixed quietly with the full volume clean signal. Try that if you are intrested.
The lead is funny don't you think... :-) I wish I could get the vibrato command in infector to work...
