Final Fantasy 8 Remix ^^

Date: 2003-03-16 Author: Broccoli Viewed 2545 times

Hi everyone! This is my first review here and I'd like some tips on mixing and stuff. A friend and I have been working on this remix of the song "the man with a machinegun" from final fantasy 8 for quite a while now but equalizing and compressing is kinda new for us so we would like as much tips as possible so we can improve. Note that this might be the worst mixed song you have ever heard so use caution when pressing the play button ;) I would class it as a happy hardcore song, even though its not very happy but it is fast. The file is too big for the upload here so you can get it here: ftp://kalkon.serveftp.com/FTP%20upload/Final_Fantasy_8_Remix.bmx I think you have to copy and paste the url.

Oh, and sorry about the song info, it was just a note to myself. Just ignore it. 2003-03-16 by Broccoli

Grrr the ftp's not open always it seems. 2003-03-16 by Broccoli

definately happy hardcore, very intense. it's not my style at all but it does sound like the stuff off of those "happy2bhardcore" compilations. i'd reduce the gain on pretty much everything so you wouldn't have to reduce the master volume so much - but that's just a personal preference, your way probably works just as well. there's so many elements it's hard to analyze each and every one for eq and compression, but if you were to mix everything before the master and add somewhat gentle compression on the whole mix, that might be nice. 2003-03-16 by agb
