New HD player
The current ones only support 16 bit wavs. It would be nice to have a HD player with a support for 24 bit and 32 bit (and 16 bit too ofcource) wavs for bouncing stuff to HD. A separate HD recorder plugin with a support for those format's would be nice too because it would make single track bouncing from any point of your routings easier than recording the master output with the extended HD recorder in the overloader. Support for mp3 and ogg formats would be a bonus for the occasional needs... For example someone sends you scetch of a track as mp3 file and you want to experiment with some EQing with it (without the trouble of converting it to wav)... Control of play position in ticks (calculated from the current speed of the track) would be nice as well as possibility of setting the play position in minutes/seconds/milliseconds (each could have it's own number in the pattern view). Trigger for play/stop ofcource...

2003-01-14: I record/eq/add rymix sboxpro to sets by some of my DJ friends, and have ?-1.5 hour wav files cluttering up my harddrives as a result, so MP3 support would be most excellent. by rdeskid
2003-01-14: I would not record anything I'm going to process later in mp3 format. That's only me though. by Elektroj?nis
2003-01-14: Well, since I haven't been able to use mp3's with buzz, i haven't :-) but I'd be interested to hear what the difference is. by rdeskid
2003-01-15: Well... The compression (don't mix this with compressor effects, it's totally different thing) in mp3's is lossy. In other words it throws away some stuff in your signal (sound). Normally it should be inaudible or almost inaudible (at least at decent bitrates like 128kbps and over) but when you process it further the compression artifacts can become louder. Even if you don't process it further it would be kind of stupid to put a track on CD that has been put through lossy compression when you could have made it from the noncompressed version that has better quality. Another problem is that (even if you only want to make the final tracks available as some mp3's) when you want to process those tracks they would have to be converted back to normal noncompressed signal (even if the HD player would do it for you, it is still be a conversion) that will be processed. If you then convert it to mp3 (for spreading it in the net or something) it will be another conversion. All of those conversions lose some quality of the original recording and it would be even more likely that the quality loss could be heard. Search the net for some information about mp3 compression for more information about it. by Elektroj?nis
2003-01-21: This would be so handy... I would use this in nearly every song. by IntrospectiveJourneys
